Pride Month 2022

June 1 marks the start of Pride Month, where many celebrate the self-affirmation, dignity, equality and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. On June 28, 1970, on the first anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, the first Pride parade began from Stonewall. Activists in New York then organized a march to finish the city’s first Pride Week, beginning toward Central Park and eventually stretching 15 city blocks and encompassing thousands of supporters.

One of Pegasus’ core values is to be passionate about work and life. As people celebrate and gather, we have put together a guide to workplace diversity and inclusion.

Celebrate Employee Differences

Offer diverse mentorships and create a culture in which the mix of people can come to work, and feel comfortable and confident to be themselves. When everyone feels valued and safe, there is value added to the workplace. As an ESOP, Pegasus employee-owners take pride in inspiring and owning the company culture.

Promote positive work environment

Initiate a Recognition Program where employees are celebrated for their dedication to service or innovations. Communicate the goals of the team and measure progress, while maintaining a natural environment where employees can take care of themselves and feel refreshed.

Check on your people

Maintaining healthy relationships and building a strong support system can lower overall stress. Our Pegasus Possibilities Program is a 1:1 coaching program with our Dream Managers to help everyone at Pegasus identify, share, and take real action to achieve their dreams. We encourage our employees to think big about their lives and to envision a future that inspires them.
